Part of a
conceptual proposal undertaken in 2011 for the University of Canterbury
to revitalise a series of relocatable buildings into a temporary post-quake
campus.
Lloyd Hartley’s
brief was to create a student-friendly café within this campus that
doubles as a function space. By extrapolating the shed form of the original building
an outdoor courtyard was formed beneath a whimsical and ethereal canopy.
